Meet Mwende Mutua: Our Inquisitive Data Analyst and Key Account Manager

Mwende Mutua joined Mesozi in early 2020 for the Data Analyst and Key Account Manager role, to help manage as the company started to experience rapid growth in its customer base. Her main function involves ensuring key accounts derive maximum value from MarketForce 360 through analyzing the data collected by using statistical and programming tools to offer our clients insights in form of reports and dashboards.
Professionally
Mwende Mutua graduated from University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, with a major in Statistics. She worked on a few freelance Data analysis jobs right after graduating, one of which was for a World Bank project for Road Safety along the Northern Corridor in Kenya, before joining GYBE Limited as the operations Manager. Here, she was in charge of overseeing all loan portfolios, verifying information, approving loans and ensuring the achievement of targets for loan repayments. She then worked as a Data analyst in the Media and Marketing industry. Her function was to analyze client’s media spends and track set KPI targets for the brands. Some of the Brands she worked on were from Unilever an FMCG and Supa 5 a Betting company. All these roles helped nurture her managerial, analytical and strategic skills. Edna aspires to be a leading Data Scientist who will add value to businesses through solving business problems using data while incorporating cutting edge technology.
Outside Work
Mwende loves trying out new dishes on her free time, with an obvious bias to the salty and savory, nothing to do with pastries. She enjoys watching cooking shows and particularly binge watching on YouTube food videos. Her other interests revolve around makeup, natural hair and fashion. She is a proud naturalista and always looks for simple ways to take care of her natural hair. “I wear my hair out almost always and in so doing, I hope to encourage other women to feel confident and beautiful rocking their naturally beautiful manes,” says Mwende.
